Contract Senior Civil Engineer Drainage & Highways &#(phone number removed); Remote 20 Hours per Week &#(phone number removed); Competitive Hourly Rate (Outside IR35 considered) A busy civil engineering consultancy is looking to appoint an experienced Senior Civil Engineer on a part-time contract basis (circa 20 hours per week). This role will focus primarily on residential and commercial development schemes , with an emphasis on drainage and adoptable highways design. The Role You will be responsible for: Surface & foul water drainage design SuDS strategies and detailed design Flood Risk Assessments S104 drainage agreements S38 & S278 highway design and approvals Liaison with LLFAs, Environment Agency and Water Authorities Supporting projects from feasibility through to technical approval This is a hands-on technical role suited to someone comfortable working autonomously and delivering compliant, buildable solutions. This company have an exciting opportunity for an Princiapal/Associate level candidate to lead their Civil Infrastructure team in Cardiff. This role will give you the opportunity to work with a team of experienced and developing Civil Engineers and you will oversee all aspects of our clients projects from inception to completion. You will advise on the delivery of a wide range of regional and national projects in the development and infrastructure sectors, from strategic urban extensions, logistics parks, and urban regeneration projects. You will work closely with other senior members of our clients team and the wider business, to deliver key and important projects for our clients. You will also mentor, guide and inspire more junior colleagues across our clients Civil Engineering team. Ideally, you will have expertise in infrastructure design to deliver multi-disciplinary projects for the entire lifecycle from concept and planning through to detailed design and delivery; highway design and on-site supervision experience is preferable. You will have a proven record of delivering projects closely with clients across technical disciplines and experience of mentoring and managing the workload of junior team members. Skills with Civils 3D, MicroDrainage and utility coordination. You will be focused on achieving coordinated solutions, a tactical thinker and effective at communicating with both internal and external parties (for example utility companies, drainage authorities, highway authorities).
