Maintenance Person Newark, Part Time (22.5 hours), Permanent £15,678 / £13.40ph (FTE £26,130p.a) Future Prospects Group are proud to be partnering with Newark Emmaus Trust to recruit a part time, permanent Maintenance Person in the Newark area. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a team that provide temporary housing and support to young homeless people. We are looking for an experienced person to join our team and help maintain the properties and grounds we own in Newark. The Role The purpose of the Maintenance Person will be to ensure the premises and grounds are maintained to a high standard and provide the residents with a safe, comfortable and pleasant environment in which to live. In addition to maintaining all records in accordance with Company policies, procedures and guidelines. In doing so, to work within a framework of equality of opportunity for all, maintaining safe and healthy working practices for yourself and colleagues/service users and contributing to the sustainability of the Trust. The principle responsibilities will include: Carry out health and safety and general maintenance checks. Complete job reports. Be familiar with property emergency procedures e.g. fire, gas leak, stop taps, fuse boxes. Undertake maintenance of specific items of equipment e.g. Vent fans, PAT testing. Undertake basic electrical checks on all equipment and repair or report to the Head of Service Delivery and relevant contractor. Maintain all items of equipment and tools in a clean, safe and secure manner. Ensure that all deficiencies in security and safety are repaired or reported to the Head of Service Delivery and relevant contractor. Report emergencies to the Head of Service Delivery in a timely manner. Adhere to the agreed budget for any costs and gain agreement with the CEO before spending. General carpentry, general plumbing, tiling repairs, painting & decorating, general locksmith and other minor work repairs. Drive the minibus when required by the trust e.g. picking up donations, trips to the tip, resident activities. The Candidate The essential requirements of the Maintenance Person include: At least 2 years of maintenance experience. Experience of use of hand and power tools. Excellent organisational, communication, time management and people skills. Be reliable and hardworking with an excellent attitude. Able to be flexible and be on call for emergency repairs. Willing to drive the Trusts minibus (EU/UK Driving License required). A satisfactory DBS and references. The successful Maintenance Person must have the right to work in the UK and hold a full UK driving licence, have the use of a car which you will be willing to insure for business use. The offer of employment will be subject to acceptable references and a satisfactory DBS check.
