Maths Teacher - FE College (GCSE Resit & Functional Skills) We are seeking a dedicated and motivational Maths Teacher to join a Further Education college, delivering GCSE Maths resit and Functional Skills Maths to learners who need additional support to achieve their qualifications. This role offers the chance to make a real impact on students' confidence, progress, and future opportunities. The Role: Deliver high-quality teaching for GCSE resit and Functional Skills Maths (Entry Level to Level 2). Support learners who may have previously struggled with maths, using engaging and accessible teaching methods. Track progress, assess learning and provide clear feedback to help students achieve their goals. Contribute to curriculum development and work closely with the maths team to raise attainment. The Candidate: Recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, CertEd, QTS or equivalent). Experience teaching GCSE resit and/or Functional Skills Maths in FE is highly desirable. Strong understanding of differentiated teaching for learners with varied abilities and backgrounds. Patient, encouraging, and committed to helping students build confidence in maths.

This is a key role supporting students across Key Stages 3 and 4 to overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential. About the Role The successful candidate will work closely with the SENDCo, Deputy SENDCo, and Director of Inclusion to support students with Dyslexia, EAL, and additional needs through high-quality assessment, intervention, and targeted support. We expect all staff to: Ensure young people of all abilities and backgrounds fulfil their potential Engage students in meaningful and interesting learning Develop creativity, independence, and confidence Promote learning beyond the classroom Key Responsibilities Whole-School SEND Support Support students, teachers, and the wider school community to raise attainment and achievement Assist with planning, monitoring, and assessment to enable students to become independent learners Deliver targeted learning opportunities for individuals and small groups Lead and contribute to bespoke SEND interventions across the four areas of need Dyslexia Responsibilities Conduct regular Dyslexia screening and maintain the Dyslexia Register Plan, deliver, and assess interventions across KS3 and KS4 Support exam access arrangement applications and provide evidence Provide an annual Dyslexia report to Governors (with SENDCo guidance) Deliver annual training for teaching and support staff Monitor and purchase Dyslexia support resources EAL Responsibilities Coordinate EAL provision and manage allocated budgets Track, monitor, and report on EAL student progress Arrange interventions for new arrivals and underachieving EAL students Support EAL learners through key transition points Represent EAL students in pastoral and curriculum meetings Provide an annual EAL report to Governors We Are Looking For Someone Who: Has experience supporting students with Dyslexia and EAL.
