We have a fantastic opportunity for an Engineering Shift Supervisor to join the busy and active team at our food manufacturing facility in Nantwich, Cheshire. You will help maintain, install and improve the performance of processing equipment across the site. The site makes chilled speciality hand-crafted flatbreads, baguettes, doughballs and ciabattas for customers including Tesco, Asda, Morrisons and Sainsburys. Accountabilities: Manage the engineering team to ensure delivery of scheduled work and reactive work so that plant availability is optimised and manage technical specifications for ingredients, products, processes & packaging Implement agreed training & development plans to meet engineering & production needs. Comply with statutory & Bakkavor Health & Safety requirement, ensures reports work in a safe manner. This will include ownership of dynamic risk assessment process Ensure engineering downtime is minimised, accurately logged, and monitor the repair time. Liaise with planning and operations team to allow for PPM to be completed in a timely manner Ensure all stock is logged in and out of the stores area highlighting any stock issues to the engineering team manager To maintain standards of hygiene and good housekeeping appropriate to a quality food manufacturer. GMP standard of workshops and engineers tool boxes is maintained at a high level About you. We have a fantastic opportunity for a Maintenance Engineer to join our expanding team and site. The Maintenance Engineer will conduct planned and predictive maintenance to prevent issues occurring. Your role will lead or support the operational teams with machinery change overs and set ups. Working with other teams, you will contribute to technical performance reviews and continuous improvement activities. Our Maintenance Engineers work as part of a team or standalone, depending on the task. The role reports to the Engineering Teams Manager . Role Accountabilities: Conduct planned maintenance of processing and packaging assets. Conduct predictive maintenance of food processing and packaging assets (condition-based monitoring). Respond to breakdowns. Conduct reactive maintenance or corrective actions to resolve deviation. Manufacture and repair component parts for processing and packaging assets. Contribute to continuous improvement projects to optimise assets or processes. About you Engineering apprenticeship (C&G / EAL NVQ Level 3 / 4 or OAL FDEM Diploma) Current Edition of IET Wiring Regulations (C&G Level 3, achieve within 12 months). Application of Safety, Health and Environmental legislation and procedures Planning works and writing reports. Verify assets meet performance criteria after work. Reading and adhering to site SOPs. CMMS experience (achieve within 12 months). Electrical bias Experience in the following would be advantageous - Mechanical principles, F&D assets, welding, machining, turning, hydraulic, pneumatic & thermodynamics systems and / or, electrical principals, motors, motor control circuits, motion control, encoders, PLCs, sensors. The successful candidate will drive site continuous improvement strategy across all operational areas and coach / support site teams in delivering the Bakkavor Operating System, and deliver successful product validations to Bakkavor/customer principles in line with business requirements. Develop a supportive function to stakeholders, with a pragmatic, problem solving approach to ensure all relevant information collected to input in business systems. Completion of controlled documents for trials, pre-productions and launches against the customer specification and BOM.
