GMP Recruitment are proud to be partnered with a family run food manufacturing business located in Tewkesbury. We are currently supporting their recruitment for an experienced and motivated Engineering Shift Team Leader to join their Engineering Department at our Tewkesbury Depot. This role will provide on-the-floor support to Engineers, ensuring the smooth running of production and distribution operations across our busy site.

You will be working a rotating shift pattern of the following:

Week 1: Monday Saturday 06:00am 14:00pm
Week 2: Monday Friday 13:45pm 21:45pm

Offering a salary of £41,944.50.

To be considered for this role you MUST have strong electrical fault-finding skills and experience of high-speed machinery in FMCG or a similar production environment.

Engineering Shift Team Leader main duties:

  • Support the Engineering Manager in delivering departmental goals
  • Supervise, train and mentor Engineers, utilising team skills effectively
  • Coordinate and deliver planned preventative maintenance schedules
  • Repair and test electrical and mechanical plant equipment
  • Lead effective fault finding and resolution for high-speed automated machinery
  • Assist with departmental paperwork, records and compliance requirements
  • Mentor Apprenticeship candidates as appropriate
  • Deputise for the Engineering Manager and cover for Engineers when required
  • Participate in equipment breakdown call-out rota

Engineering Shift Team Leader required skills and experience:

  • Minimum of an electrical-based apprenticeship qualification essential
  • Experience of high-speed machinery in FMCG or a similar production environment essential
  • Strong electrical fault-finding skills essential
  • Experience working with automated machinery essential
  • Previous supervisory or people management experience essential
  • Self-motivated with the ability to adapt to changing priorities
  • Strong communication skills and ability to foster good working relationships
  • Flexible approach to shifts and deadlines, delivering a high standard of work
