Job Title: Special Needs Teaching Assistant (SEN TA)

Location: Knowlsey

Contract Type: Full-time, Fixed-term

Salary: £85-£100

Start Date: ASAP

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Needs Teaching Assistant to join our supportive team. This role involves working closely with pupils who have a range of Special Educational Needs (SEN), including autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and social, emotional, and mental health needs. You will play a vital role in helping each child access the curriculum, develop independence, and achieve their potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide one-to-one or small-group support

  • Encourage and promote independence, confidence, and self-esteem in pupils

  • Support with behaviour management using positive and proactive approaches

  • Help prepare and adapt classroom resources to meet individual needs

  • Ensure the safety, wellbeing, and safeguarding of all pupils

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEN (desirable but not essential)

  • Patience, empathy, and a nurturing approach

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to adapt and respond to the needs of individual pupils

  • A proactive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team
