Senior Commissioning Officer - Children's Services
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Commissioning Officer to join a Children's Commissioning Team on a full-time basis (37 hours per week). This role offers hybrid working arrangements and the chance to make a real impact for children and young people.
The role
- Lead on the development, implementation and monitoring of commissioning plans for children and young people
- Deliver a focus on Short Breaks for children with SEND, and the Advocacy and Independent Visiting service
- Manage full tender and retender exercises, ensuring efficiency, effectiveness and value for money
- Work collaboratively with stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes and whole system change
Key responsibilities
- Develop and commission Short Breaks provision for children with SEND
- Overhaul and retender the Advocacy and Independent Visitor service at pace
- Report on progress and delivery at senior board level
- Support the co-development of service offers with children, young people and partners
Candidate requirements
- In-depth knowledge of national issues and programmes relevant to children and young people's services
- Proven experience commissioning Short Breaks provision
- Strong skills in needs assessment, performance management, monitoring and reporting
- Background in service development, programme management and financial oversight
- Ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders
