Principal Estates Surveyor
Location: Exeter (Hybrid office and site visits required)
Salary: £54,180 £76,944 + excellent benefits
Contract Type: Permanent

Morson Talent are proud to be supporting a major public sector organisation in their search for a Principal Estates Surveyor to join their team in Exeter. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in managing and developing a varied estate from operational sites and offices to rural land holdings ensuring it is fit for purpose and aligned with the organisation s long-term strategy.

The Role

As Principal Estates Surveyor, you will:

  • Lead on estates-related inputs into property projects, ensuring compliance with public sector property legislation and governance.
  • Provide expert advice on property acquisitions, disposals, and landlord/tenant matters.
  • Manage complex, high-value property transactions and associated casework.
  • Oversee the delivery of professional estate services through external consultants, agents, and legal advisors.
  • Collaborate with project managers and senior stakeholders to deliver strategic, commercially sound property solutions.
About You

To be successful, you will have:

  • Chartered membership of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS/FRICS).

  • Extensive experience in estates and property strategy, including acquisitions, disposals, and lease management.

  • Strong communication, negotiation, and influencing skills.

  • A proven track record of delivering estate projects on time and to budget.

  • Experience working within large, multi-site organisations (public or private sector).
