Job Description

Mechanical Fitter - Rotating Machinery

This is an exciting permanent opportunity for skilled Mechanical Fitter to join a leading engineering manufacturer specialising in rotating machinery for the rubber mixing industry.
The role involves rotational shift work with generous shift premiums and offers excellent earning potential and long-term career development in a well-established, global-facing operation.



Who this job would suit

This role would be ideal for time-served Mechanical Fitters with NVQ Level 3 qualifications or equivalent who have experience working with rotating machinery or are eager to develop within a specialist engineering environment.

It would particularly suit hands-on engineers looking for flexible shift-based work with structured training and future development opportunities.



Key Responsibilities


  • Mechanical assembly and fitting of rotating machinery, including Banbury mixers and pelletisers

  • Read and interpret technical drawings and engineering schematics

  • Fit, align, and test mechanical components including hydraulics and pneumatics

  • Perform fault-finding and maintenance on specialist equipment

  • Travel occasionally for out-working or short-term overseas assignments

Salary


OTE up to 50,000 including shift allowances and required overtime. Overtime paid at premium rates.


  • 20% shift premium (Shift A) = 20.71 per hour

  • 30% shift premium (Shift B) = 22.43 per hour
