Cover Supervisor - Chester Area

About the Role:
Simply Education is seeking reliable, confident, and enthusiastic Cover Supervisors to join a range of secondary schools in the Chester area. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals who are passionate about education and looking to gain valuable classroom experience-whether you're exploring a future in teaching, returning to the sector, or looking for flexible work around other commitments.
As a Cover Supervisor, you will play a key role in maintaining continuity of learning during teacher absences by delivering pre-prepared lessons and managing classroom behaviour effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise whole classes during the short-term absence of teaching staff
Deliver pre-set lessons across a range of subjects
Maintain a positive, focused classroom environment
Manage student behaviour in line with school policies
Support students with questions about tasks and ensure they stay on track
Report back to the regular class teacher on student progress and any concerns
Ensure safeguarding responsibilities are upheld at all times
Key Skills & Qualities:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to manage behaviour effectively in a classroom setting
Confidence to lead a class independently
Adaptability and calm under pressure
Friendly, professional, and approachable manner
A genuine interest in supporting the education and development of young people
Essential Requirements:
- Right to work in the UK
Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one)
Availability for flexible or regular work
Some experience working with young people (in school, youth work, coaching, etc.)
Desirable:
- Experience in a school environment
A degree or relevant Level 3 qualification
Aspiring teachers or those undertaking teacher training
