Mechanical Design Engineer

Own Transport: Due to the location of the site, candidates must have access to their own transport.

£13.50 Depending on Experience

Full-Time, Temporary to Permanent - Monday to Friday

My client is an innovative manufacturer with a strong reputation in the industrial sector looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer.

Whether you're early in your design engineering journey or bringing years of experience, this role offers real hands-on involvement in the full design lifecycle from concept through to production. You ll be involved in a variety of projects, including the design of industrial valves and other bespoke mechanical components.

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop and support the design of new and existing products and projects.

- Create effective design solutions to meet customer and manufacturing requirements

- Prepare full production design packs including detailed drawings, BOMs, and specifications.

- Manage multiple projects concurrently, ensuring deadlines are met

- Conduct job costing and quotations

- Source suitable materials and liaise with suppliers and customers.

- Ensure all designs align with technical and quality standards

Skills & Experience Required:

- Degree or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering, or relevant practical experience.

- Proficient in 3D CAD software (SolidWorks, Inventor, Creo, or Onshape)

- AutoCAD experience is a bonus but not essential.

- Strong communication and organisation skills

- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.

- Creative problem-solver with attention to detail.

- Able to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines
