Support Worker - Day Service
Location: Preston
Salary: £12.21/hr
Contract Type: Temporary/Ongoing
Shift Pattern: Monday - Friday (09:30-15:30 or 10:00-16:00)
P4 Recruitment is working in partnership with a respected charity to recruit Support Workers for their Day Service, which provides care and personal support to individuals with learning disabilities. This role is focused on enabling people to live with greater independence, dignity, and control over their own lives.
Key Responsibilities
- Support individuals in accessing activities and community experiences in line with their personal plans
- Assist with personal care and contribute to regular health assessments
- Promote communication, self-esteem, and confidence to help individuals build relationships and engage socially
- Maintain accurate records of individual progress and activity participation
- Advocate for individuals' views and ensure their involvement in decisions affecting their lives
- Work collaboratively with families, carers, and professionals to deliver consistent and person-centred support
Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year's experience working in a UK care setting
- Demonstrated ability to provide compassionate, person-centred care
- Strong communication skills and a caring, reliable approach
- Willingness to undertake training relevant to the health and wellbeing of service users
