Contract Mechanical Design Engineer

Position: Mechanical Design Engineer
Location: Castle Donington - 3 Days On site

Contract: Outside IR35
Type: Full-Time

The Role
This is a contract role expected to last between 6 - 12 months with the successful candidate will be designing a range of mechanical components used in turbomachinery applications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create detailed 3D models and assemblies using Siemens NX.
• Generate engineering drawings
• Perform engineering design calculations eg Perform tolerance stack-up analysis , bolted joint.
• Preparation of engineering design reports
• Engage with suppliers and lead design for manufacturing activities
• Ensure designs meet industry standards, customer specifications, and regulatory requirements.

Required qualifications and experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
• Experience designing castings, machined parts and fabrications.
• Experience using BS8888 and/or ASME Y14.5
• Proficiency in NX software.
• Strong skills in mechanical calculations - GD&T.
• Experience designing turbomachinery components.
• Experience using Teamcenter, or similar PLM systems.
