About the Role
Adept Resourcing is proud to be recruiting on behalf of our client, a leading engineering and manufacturing business supplying high-integrity cast components to the Aerospace and Power Generation industries.
We are seeking a skilled Machinist to join the team, ideally with Vertical Boring or similar precision machining experience. You'll work on centrifugally spun stainless alloy castings, producing high-quality machined components to tight tolerances and detailed technical drawings.
Key Responsibilities
Set, clock/indicate and true-up large castings on manual machines (vertical borer, centre lathe, manual mill)
Ensure all work meets required dimensional and surface finish tolerances.
Conduct first-off and in-process dimensional inspection of machined components.
Mark and identify alloys accurately and maintain traceability.
Meet production targets and timeframes while maintaining quality and safety standards.
Work effectively as part of a small, skilled team with minimal supervision.
Follow all company health, safety, and environmental policies and maintain a clean working area.
Essential Skills & Experience
Minimum 3 years' experience in a precision machining or manufacturing environment.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Confident working to tight deadlines and production schedules.
Capable of working independently and collaboratively within a team.
Flexible approach to overtime and shift work.
Good understanding of Health & Safety and Quality procedures.
Clear and effective communication skills.
Desirable:
Experience operating Vertical Boring machines or large-capacity lathes.
Knowledge of machining stainless steel or nickel-based alloys.
