As Principal Electrical Engineer, you'll take a technical lead role in designing and integrating complex electrical systems that power the next generation of marine innovation.
Key Responsibilities - Lead the design, development, and integration of electrical systems across a range of maritime products.
- Define system architectures, select components, and ensure compliance with safety and EMC standards.
- Produce and review schematics, wiring diagrams, and documentation.
- Support build, test, and commissioning activities.
- Provide technical leadership, mentoring junior engineers, and driving best practice across the team.
- Collaborate with mechanical, software, and systems engineers to deliver reliable, cost-effective, and compliant solutions.
About You - Degree-qualified in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Strong understanding of electrical design principles, power distribution, and control systems.
- Experience with electrical CAD tools and relevant safety or compliance standards (CE/UKCA, EMC, electrical safety).
- Confident leading design reviews, solving complex integration issues, and managing multiple priorities.
- Excellent communication and team collaboration skills.
Desirable - Familiarity with PLCs, motor control, or industrial automation.
- Experience mentoring and developing engineering capability.
