What's in the Laboratory Technician Apprenticeship? As an apprentice Laboratory Technician at Müller Yogurt & Desserts you will learn how to: Assist with the decontamination of equipment, learn about waste management processes and procedures and how to undertake this effectively. You will be taught how to stock check many of our general consumable stores and the re-ordering process and how to allocate bar codes as requested by our scientists for importing into the Chemical Inventory. In addition you will have the opportunity to discover general lab equipment maintenance methods and/or how to coordinate engineers for repairs and servicing of equipment in conjunction with our scientists. It's a hands on role as you will be able to assist in the preparation of reagent/buffers, register and record Fixed Asset Numbers on new equipment purchases and recording them on our internal systems. You will need to learn about maintenance, a tidy workplace and Health and safety processes and procedures to ensure you work safely within our labs. What we can do for you? At the end of the Apprenticeship programme you will gain the following awards: BETEC Level 3 National Certificate in Applied Science which includes: Principles and Applications of Science Practical Scientific Procedures and Techniques What You will Need? GCSE Grade C and above in Maths, English & Science (or EU equivalent) Flexibility to stay and travel to accommodation for the purpose of project work or learning activities at other Müller sites work (expenses will be covered) Full UK Driver's License is preferred Must be over 16 years of age Must not be engaged in other full time education Must be living in the UK What to Expect? Hours: A full time role of 40 hours / week with some potential to experience shift working. Mechanical Calibration Technician (Airtools) is required for a permanent role for an established global company in the Salmesbury, BB2 area. Competitive salary (DoE) + superb benefits (see below). The Calibration Technician will be working 40 hours (M-F Days) + occasional O/T, applicants must hold a full UK driving licence as they will be required to work in the field and occasionally stay away from home.
