Engineering Supervisor
Location: Suffolk
Salary: 60,000 - 65,000 + exceptional benefits package
Hours: Monday to Friday, days (40 hours per week, flexible start/finish times)

The Suffolk facility is a high-volume, automated environment producing a wide range of retail products supplied to major UK retailers. The site combines traditional manufacturing with modern automation - including conveyors, robots, form-fill-seal and packaging lines - offering both technical challenge and exciting opportunity for innovation.
The Role
We're seeking an experienced Engineering Supervisor to take ownership of a key production and packaging area within this fast-paced operation.
You'll provide day-to-day leadership for a small team of multi-skilled engineers, driving both performance and proactive maintenance, and supporting continuous improvement across the site.
You'll play a pivotal role in ensuring reliability, efficiency and safety, working closely with Operations and Process Leads to deliver tangible engineering improvements and support site-wide investment projects.
This position would suit a qualified engineer who's ready to step up into a leadership role - or a proven supervisor seeking a fresh challenge with real autonomy and the opportunity to shape the direction of a high-performing department.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, coach and develop a small team of multi-skilled engineers and technicians.
Drive proactive maintenance and reliability improvement initiatives.
Manage and engage external contractors for specialist maintenance and project work.
Identify and justify capital investment opportunities.
Collaborate closely with Operations and Process Leads to deliver productivity gains.
Lead root cause analysis and defect elimination activities.
Support installation and commissioning of new equipment and automation projects.
Maintain safe systems of work, ensuring all engineering activities are compliant.
About You
Time-served or formally qualified engineer (mechanical or electrical).
Strong background in FMCG or food manufacturing maintenance.
Hands-on capability balanced with leadership and people management skills.
Excellent problem-solving and communication abilities.
A proactive mindset with a drive for improvement and efficiency.
Comfortable working in a dynamic, automated production environment.
