Job Overview Due to increased investment at Vuba, we are expanding our own fleet of Vehicles and require more HGV drivers to join the business. In your role, you will transport palletised building materials to our customers. This will involve liaising with the Transport Planning team in the office and dealing directly with our customers on site to ensure timely, safe and secure delivery of goods. Successful applicants will undertake a 2 week on the job training program to ensure they are confident to deliver the product with the high level of customer service we require. The workload will be varied, with a mixture of local work and longer distance customer deliveries and backloads, involving some nights away each week. The vehicle you will be driving is a lorry and drag combination meaning flexibility is key as some days you will be driving a rigid and other days you will have the trailer with you. The majority of customer deliveries will be made using the truck mounted forklift, so the ability to plan and problem solve whilst on site is a must. All overnight trucks are fitted with amenities (Fridge, Inverter and Microwave). All Drivers get a 3pm finish on Fridays as Vuba are keen to support the work life balance. Duties Ensuring vehicles are well maintained, mechanically sound and legally roadworthy Ensuring that customer orders arrive in good condition Representing the company in a positive and professional manner Managing your own time to ensure compliance with driver's hours legislation Working with the logistics team to plan routes to allow efficient multi-drop and direct deliveries each day. Supervising and assisting with loading and unloading of goods Maintaining records including vehicle log books Complete dynamic risk assessments as most deliveries are residential Qualifications A current Category C + E (Class 1) license held for at least 2 years A minimum 12 months commercial driving experience A valid Driver CPC card and digital tachograph card Forklift experience is desirable - training will be provided Previous experience completing multi-drop deliveries A flexible approach to do nights out when the job indicates A current Moffett License (desirable) however, full training will be provided to attain this if you do not have one Salary and Benefits: £15.00 - £16.50ph 55 hour per week Overtime during weekdays - 1.25 x Bank holiday and weekends - 1.5 x Overnight allowance - £30 per night £10 per day allowance Regular Team Socials, Events and Celebrations Company Bonus and Incentive Schemes 24 Days Holiday Plus Bank Holidays Regular Training and Development Opportunities Career Growth and Progression Opportunities - it's a fast growing business! At least 3 months experience required. Pay is £14 per hour or £14.50 if you hold a valid ADR card. Any weekend work pays £50 plus any hours worked. Any driver who does not hold their ADR card will be considered for ADR training after completing the 3 month probationary period. Drivers are assigned a vehicle. Vehicles will be valeted before employment start and come with an inverter and fridge supplied by us.
