Job Description

Phoenix Gas Services is a fast-growing company seeking a skilled and experienced Commercial Electrician to join our Commercial Department. This is a key position created to support our expanding operations across Staffordshire, Cheshire, and the East Midlands corridor .

The Role:

You will work with a team of commercial gas engineers, providing essential electrical support for a variety of HVAC and gas equipment. The role involves a diverse mix of commercial M&E installations, fault finding, and maintenance, with occasional domestic electrical work within the social housing sector. This position offers excellent exposure to commercial gas and plumbing systems, air conditioning, and air handling units, with opportunities to expand your skillset and grow with the team.

Responsibilities:

Wiring of plantroom refurbishments, including BMS and control panels.
Performing electrical fault finding and installations in commercial M&E settings.
Working with three-phase electrics for minor works, such as pump replacements or three-phase to single-phase adaptations.
Occasionally undertaking electrical work in the domestic sector, including wiring domestic boiler ranges, immersion heaters, timers, and basic electrical fault finding.
Supporting a team of commercial gas engineers with general repairs on HVAC and gas equipment.
Adhering to all relevant electrical regulations and safety standards.
Participating in the out-of-hours call-out rota as required, responding to a variety of emergencies across different compliance types.

Qualifications & Requirements

Essential:

Minimum Level 3 NVQ or equivalent in Electrical Qualifications.
Gold Card holder.
18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification.
Proven experience in Commercial M&E.
Strong understanding of 3-phase wiring.
A great understanding of commercial gas and plumbing systems is essential .

Desirable:

2391 Testing and Inspecting qualifications.
Experience and knowledge of wiring air source heat pumps.
Experience and knowledge of wiring solar PV systems.
Plumbing and heating exposure.

Salary & Benefits

Basic Pay: Starting at £39,520 per annum , with opportunities for overtime and possible weekend work.
Working Hours: 08:00 - 16:45 Monday to Thursday, and 08:00 - 16:30 Friday.
Out of Hours Call-Out Rota: You will be part of an out-of-hours rota alongside heating, gas, and air conditioning operatives.
Out-of-hours work is paid at 1.5 times the hourly rate, door to door .
A retention payment of up to £1,400 per annum will be paid for participating in the out-of-hours call-out rota.
Equipment & Provisions: A company vehicle, workwear, electrical tester, mobile phone, uniform, and initial van stock will be provided.
