Turner & Voce
Head of After Sales
Turner & Voce Doncaster, Yorkshire
This isn't a quiet, desk-based Head of Aftersales role. We're working with a fast-growing, privately owned technical products business where Aftersales is already a multi-million-pound recurring-revenue operation - and is about to become significantly bigger. The business has grown rapidly, is investing through acquisition and expects its field-engineering team to expand materially over the next couple of years. It now needs a senior leader who can take full ownership of Service and Installation, protect the customer experience today and build an operating model capable of supporting the next phase of growth. This is a high-volume, high-friction environment. Breakdowns, installations, scheduling challenges, parts issues, and customer escalations all land within Aftersales. You'll need the energy and resilience to deal with that reality - without becoming another person buried in the day-to-day. The Role You'll own the complete Aftersales function, covering both Service and Installation, with direct accountability for the P&L, customer performance and development of the team. Own and grow Aftersales revenue while protecting margin Turn the installed customer base into more predictable recurring revenue through service contracts, calibration, warranty, parts and consumables Lead a national field-engineering operation of 20+ engineers plus subcontractors, with significant further growth planned Improve SLAs, first-time fix, engineer utilisation, response time, quote conversion and contract renewal Own senior relationships with key customers and personally lead the escalations that matter Develop Coordinators, managers and support teams rather than becoming another 'doer' in the department Present Aftersales performance and P&L directly to the board Who We're Looking For Your exact product background is less important than having genuinely led a technical field-service or Aftersales operation at scale. Experience owning an Aftersales, field-service or service P&L - ideally 1.5m+ Leadership of a distributed field engineer workforce through lead engineers and a coordination/scheduling team Senior ownership of national or key customer relationships Strong commercial understanding of margin, WIP, debtor days, engineer revenue per hour, first-time fix and utilisation Experience with field-service technology such as BigChange, ServiceMax, Simpro, Salesforce Field Service or Microsoft Dynamics Field Service Confidence presenting performance and P&L to a board or ownership group Direct garage equipment, MOT, vehicle lift, brake-test, tyre or wheel-alignment experience would be highly relevant, but strong candidates may equally come from material handling, capital equipment, industrial machinery or other technical field-service environments.

Vacancy No 5606 Job Title BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER Location: NATIONAL UK PLEASE NOTE: This is a home/field-based, national sales position with regular travel across the UK. The role has nationwide scope, although the initial geographical emphasis is expected to be across Greater Manchester, Yorkshire and North Wales, with travel into Scotland and other parts of England as required. Candidates should therefore be comfortable operating autonomously across a broad geography and travelling flexibly in line with customer, project and partner activity. JOB DESCRIPTION Are you a commercially driven HVAC or building services sales professional with genuine specification credibility, a strong new business mentality and the ability to open doors, build strategic relationships and convert technically led opportunities into sustainable commercial growth? We are partnered with an innovative UK cleantech business specialising in smart hot water cylinders and connected hot water systems designed to reduce energy consumption, support decarbonisation and improve the performance of homes and buildings. My client is looking to appoint an experienced Business Development Manager to strengthen its specification led commercial position across new build housing, social housing, commercial property and wider energy and building services markets. This is not a conventional account management role. The successful individual will be expected to create demand, identify and prospect high value target accounts, develop new relationships, influence specification and build a high-quality pipeline across a diverse stakeholder base including developers, housing providers, consultants, contractors, distributors, utilities, energy partners and commercial property owners. The opportunity will particularly suit somebody who can combine technical credibility with a genuine hunter profile, translating smart hot water, low carbon heating and connected energy technology into clear customer outcomes around energy saving, carbon reduction, SAP and EPC performance, compliance, resident experience, grid flexibility and whole life value. THE COMPANY My client is a technology led UK business focused on improving the way hot water is stored, heated and managed across domestic and commercial applications. Its smart hot water cylinders and connected systems use intelligent control technology to heat only the water that is required, helping customers reduce energy use while improving flexibility and visibility over system performance. The proposition extends beyond the cylinder itself. The business works across retrofit, new build and commercial applications, bringing together hot water technology, controls, connected assets and energy flexibility to support increasingly demanding decarbonisation, efficiency and compliance objectives. Target markets include new build housing, social housing, commercial estates and property owners, developers, M&E consultants and contractors, distributors, utilities and energy partners. A significant part of the role will involve engaging senior and technically experienced stakeholders including Asset Directors, Sustainability Leads, Development Directors, Technical Managers, Procurement Leads, Commercial Directors and C suite decision makers. You will be expected to understand each customer's commercial and technical priorities and translate them into clear value propositions around energy saving, carbon reduction, SAP and EPC performance, tenant and end user outcomes, grid flexibility, compliance and whole life value. This is a genuinely proactive business development position. The business expects a substantial proportion of time to be dedicated to prospecting and outbound new business activity, supported by customer meetings, partner engagement, proposal development, pipeline management, market mapping and close collaboration with internal technical and product teams. THE ROLE This is a field based national sales position combining specification development, strategic business development, channel engagement and commercial conversion. You will develop opportunities across housing associations, housebuilders, developers, M&E consultants, contractors, merchants, facilities teams, energy companies, commercial property owners and other relevant partners. You will build a structured target account plan, identify decision makers, open new conversations and progress opportunities through discovery, technical review, proposal, specification, pilot, framework, tender or commercial agreement as appropriate. Success will depend on your ability to work independently while bringing in technical, product and operational support at the right stages of the sales process.
