Solutions and Innovation Associate (Knowledge Transfer Partnership)

Full time, fixed term for up to 24 months

Split place of work between UKGBC's London office and your home

Occasional travel to the University of the Built Environment Horizons office in Reading is required

Salary range £36,000 to £45,000 pa plus benefits

In collaboration with UK Green Building Council (UKGBC), the University of the Built Environment has been awarded a Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) project grant. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a unique collaborative partnership which seeks to implement change, enhance collaboration, and overcome barriers to support the scaling of sustainable solutions in the built environment.

As the Solutions and Innovation Associate, you will drive forward the KTP, managing the project and delivering successful project outputs. You will design, conduct, and analyse research of sustainable innovation journeys, and develop recommendations for industry and policy stakeholders. Your professional development will be fully supported with residential management training, a protected personal development budget of £4,000, and guidance from supervisors at both the University and UKGBC.

Your accountabilities and responsibilities include:

  • Drive forward the delivery of the KTP project to ensure successful outputs and outcomes, working closely with UKGBC member organisations
  • Produce and contribute to project outputs (including reports, presentations, system diagrams, innovation journey maps, potential case studies, and academic publications)
  • Explore and develop business models for new UKGBC mission-aligned services to support innovation scaling and adoption, and upskill relevant UKGBC teams.

Our main requirements:

  • Degree level qualification (2:1 classification or above) relevant to a key area of the project
  • Experience in one or more of the following areas: Built environment, Sustainability, Innovation, Business and delivery models, Project management
  • Experience in organisational research, analysis and reporting for either academic or commercial/industrial purposes
  • Efficient project management, time management, planning and organisational skills; ability to manage a varied workload
