The Role - Acoustic consultant / Junior Acoustician:
- Conducting on-site sound and vibration surveys
- Preparing technical reports and acoustic calculations
- Supporting planning and design-stage assessments
- Liaising with architects, contractors, and design teams
- Working across a broad range of building types from schools and hotels to large residential and commercial developments
Minimum Skills / Experience Required - Acoustic consultant / Junior Acoustician:
- BSc or MSc in Acoustics or related field (preferably from Salford, ISVR Southampton, or Heriot-Watt - THIS IS NOT ESSENTIAL)
- Strong technical and scientific understanding of acoustics (not just audio engineering or sound production)
- Full UK driving licence
- Willingness to travel nationwide and occasionally work irregular hours for time-dependent measurements
- Based within commuting distance to Colchester or willing to relocate
- Up to 1 year's experience in an acoustic consultancy
- Experience conducting on-site measurements or writing technical reports
- Familiarity with relevant standards and guidance (e.g. BS 8233, BB93, ProPG, etc.)
- £25,000 - £30,000 depending on experience
- Full training and career development from experienced senior consultants
- Exposure to major, high-profile UK and international projects
