Fabrication Technician & Senior Fabrication Technician

Location: Northamptonshire

Salary: £35,000 - £43,000 (DOE)

Sector: Automotive / Motorsport Manufacturing

We're supporting a specialist automotive and motorsport manufacturer in the recruitment of a Fabrication Technician (£35k) and a Senior Fabrication Technician (£43k) to join their growing manufacturing team.

Both roles are hands-on and focused on producing high-quality, low-volume assemblies to tight specifications. You'll work closely with the Fabrication Supervisor and Principal Fabricators, contributing to projects that demand precision, efficiency, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Interpret engineering drawings and define fabrication methods.
  • Set up and operate fabrication equipment, fixtures, and tooling.
  • Carry out MIG, TIG, and spot welding on ferrous and non-ferrous materials.
  • Support machinery maintenance and inspection schedules.
  • Maintain records and ensure adherence to quality processes.
  • Identify and contribute to process improvements.
  • Support and mentor junior team members (Senior role).
  • Uphold workshop safety and housekeeping standards.

Qualifications & Experience

  • City & Guilds or equivalent fabrication qualification.
  • Fabrication Technician: 2+ years' experience in automotive or motorsport fabrication.
  • Senior Fabrication Technician: 3+ years' experience with proven advanced fabrication skills.
  • Confident reading and interpreting engineering drawings and 3D models.
  • Knowledge of materials, fabrication techniques, and inspection processes.
