Multi-skilled Engineering Technician Bristol (BS35)
Salary: £41,062.59 + 26% shift allowance = £51,739.86 per year
Shifts: 12-hour rotating day and night shifts (average 3.25 days per week)
Pattern includes: 7 consecutive days off per month
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
Location: Unit 1, Central Park, Goldcrest Way, Bristol, BS35 4GH
(commutable from Severn Beach, Avonmouth, Patchway, Filton & surrounding areas)

About the role
We re looking for a Multi-skilled Engineering Technician to join CHEP the global leader in pallet, crate, and container pooling. You ll maintain and improve manufacturing equipment using a multi-skilled approach, working to high safety and reliability standards in a fast-paced, automated environment.
What you ll do
- Perform proactive and reactive maintenance across site equipment
- Diagnose faults and carry out root cause analysis
- Support continuous improvement and reliability initiatives
- Use CMMS to log and manage maintenance tasks
- Supervise contractors and issue work permits
- Ensure all work complies with health & safety regulations
What we need from you
- Level 3 Engineering Apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3 in Electrical/Mechanical Maintenance
- Multi-skilled across electrical and mechanical disciplines
- Experience in fast-paced, safety-driven environments
- Strong fault-finding skills (electrical, mechanical, PLC)
- Ability to read engineering drawings and operate workshop tools
- Safety-conscious, adaptable, and a team player
Shift Pattern Example
A typical rotation includes: 3 nights on, 2 days off, 3 days on, 2 days off, 3 nights on, 2 days off, 2 days on, 7 consecutive days off, 2 days on, 2 days off.
