Home School Link Worker

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Home School Link Worker to make a genuine difference in the lives of children and families within a vibrant and welcoming primary school in Newcastle-under-Lyme.

This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about supporting families, improving pupil wellbeing, and helping every child reach their full potential through strong home-school partnerships.

We are seeking a motivated and caring individual to work proactively with parents and carers, build positive relationships, and provide guidance on a range of issues affecting attendance, engagement, and wellbeing.

You will play a key role in promoting effective communication between home and school and contribute to the school's wider pastoral and safeguarding team.

As this is a regulated position, all candidates must hold or be willing to obtain an Enhanced DBS and participate in ongoing safeguarding training.

• Support families and pupils to overcome barriers to learning and engagement
• Work closely with the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) and pastoral team
• Promote excellent attendance and punctuality, supporting the Attendance Lead
• Organise and lead parent workshops and information sessions
• Build and maintain positive relationships with parents, carers, and external agencies
• Provide early help and signposting to families in need of additional support
• Uphold the school's values of respect, responsibility, and inclusion

• Experience in a school, community, or family support role
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Empathetic, approachable, and able to build trust quickly
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
• A genuine passion for helping children and families thrive
