Focused on a 16-month contract starting in November, the Avionics technician will join an existing Operations Team and be responsible for: Preparing the UAV system for flight Preparation, airfield for launch and recovery of the products Conducting any troubleshooting activity, including Preventative Maintenance (PM) and Corrective Maintenance (CM). Duties and Tasks Maintenance of avionics and electronic components within the boundaries of the product Undertake maintenance procedures, as defined within the Aircraft Data Set (ADS Maintenance of Ground Support Equipment (GSE). Troubleshooting via Built in Test (BIT). Troubleshooting via Flight Line Support Command Unit (FLSCU). Troubleshooting via Portable Air Test Equipment (PATE). Maintenance using Test Equipment. Replacement of faulty LRUs Preparation of UAV for flight Preparation of GCS for flight Perform deployment, pre-flight checks and end of mission tasks Preparation of airfield for launch and recovery of UAV Preparation of runway strip for UAV take off and recovery UAV towing and airstrip activities UAV Handling, cleaning, visual inspection, fuel and oil replenishment Perform UAV post flight handling activities Post flight routine data recording downloads Collaborate with a small team, certifying colleagues with supervisory responsibilities and completing and certifying any relevant documentation for work carried out Conduct and certify independent inspections Undertake Logbook and documentation management Maintain the Software Library as a secondary duty Conduct tasks orientated with Cryptographic material Skills: • Ability to work within defined compliance and processing structures• Clear and concise communication skills• Effective stakeholder management skills• Good team workings skills and ability to motivate effectively• Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office packages• Strong attention to detail and ability to work to high levels of accuracy• Strong organisational skills Knowledge: • A profound understanding of F700 Series and the use of Aircraft Data Sets• An understanding of GOLDesp and RESOLVE management tools would be desirable• An understanding of airfield, flight line and runway operations• Attainment of 'signatory authorisations' within the MAA authorisation structure• Demonstratable experience in a similar role within a military or civilian aviation discipline, preferable aerospace• Knowledge of avionic first- and second-line maintenance Conduct and Behaviours: • Ability to work independently as well as being a team player• Ability to manually handle loads within Health & Safety limits• A positive 'can do' attitude with the ability to deliver exceptional customer service• Creative and resourceful under pressure• Forward thinking• Flexibility on occasion will be required to support the customer needs• Prioritise and delegate workload with minimal supervision, in order to meet deadlines• Resilient and self-motivated• Willingness and ability to travel to overseas and in the UK occasionally - but on a limited basis Your CV will be forwarded to Jonathan Lee Recruitment, a leading engineering and manufacturing recruitment consultancy established in 1978.
