Job Title: CNC Milling Machinist
Location: Commutable from Studley, Bromsgrove, Stratford, Redditch
Salary: £18-£20ph plus shift allowance
Contract Type: Perm Shift Pattern 6am -2pm two weeks then 2pm-12am two weeks with Fridays off.
Job Purpose: To produce precision components to engineering specifications using CNC machinery. The role requires the ability to set, operate, and monitor CNC machines while ensuring that all parts meet quality, safety, and efficiency standards.
Key Responsibilities: - Set up and operate CNC milling machines according to job requirements.
- Read, interpret, and work from engineering drawings, CAD data, and process sheets.
- Load programs and make minor edits or offsets as required to achieve correct dimensions.
- Inspect finished parts using precision measuring tools (e.g., verniers, micrometers, gauges) to verify compliance with tolerances.
- Maintain machine cleanliness and perform routine checks to ensure optimal performance.
- Work to production schedules while maintaining high standards of accuracy and quality.
- Collaborate with engineers, supervisors, and quality control staff to resolve machining or process issues.
- Follow all company health and safety procedures and maintain a clean, organised workspace.
- Contribute to continuous improvement activities to enhance productivity and quality.
Essential Requirements: - Engineering Certificate Level 2 or 3 (or equivalent qualification/apprenticeship in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering).
- Proven experience operating CNC machinery in a production or precision engineering environment.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications accurately.
- Strong understanding of machining processes, tolerances, and materials.
- Competence with measuring and inspection tools.
- Good attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
