People Administrator

About the role:
The Institute of Ismaili Studies (IIS) is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented People Administrator to provide high-quality administrative support within the People and Culture Department. This role plays a key part in ensuring the smooth delivery of all HR processes, employee lifecycle administration, and the overall coordination of people services across the organisation.
Working under the direction on the Head of People and Culture and wider People and Culture team, the postholder will be responsible for managing recruitment and onboarding processes, preparing employment contracts and change letters, maintaining accurate employee records and systems, and supporting People and Culture initiatives and events. The role offers the opportunity to contribute to a collaborative, people-focused environment at the heart of a globally engaged educational institution.
What we're looking for:
- Proven experience in administration, ideally within an HR or education-related environment.
- Excellent organisational, time management, and multitasking skills, with a keen eye for accuracy and detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to maintain confidentiality at all times.
- Competence in using Microsoft Office applications (including Word, Excel, Outlook, and SharePoint).
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a dynamic team.
- A strong commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion, and sensitivity to working within a multicultural and community-based context.

The Institute of Ismaili Studies (IIS), established in 1977, undertakes research, produces publications, and runs educational programmes that promote scholarship in the study of Islam and Muslim societies, with a particular emphasis on Ismaili and Shi'i history and thought.
