Electrician

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

You will maintain and repair all electrical aspects of a vehicle, carry out vehicle inspections and associated administrative duties.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The following reflects typical duties and is not intended to be a comprehensive description of all tasks:

• Inspect, service, maintain and prepare Translink fleet to PCV standards

• Test, diagnose faults and rectify defects on vehicle systems

• Remove and replace vehicle components

• Respond to vehicle breakdowns

• Complete administrative duties associated with the post

• Other appropriate duties

Essential Criteria

• Recognised Vehicle Apprenticeship with minimum of NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in a relevant trade or discipline.
• Minimum of 2 years post apprenticeship experience in a similar role.
• Full current driving licence.
• Able to obtain a PCV licence.

Desirable Criteria

• Relevant qualification or training relating to a workshop environment.
• Experience in a similar role working on commercial vehicles.
• Relevant engineering experience on buses and/or coaches.
• Experience of using IT packages.
• Possess large vehicle licence, preferably a PCV licence
