What we do. This particular role is at our Bakkavor Meals site in Park Royal - West London. Split across 3 factories and 1 distribution centre. The factories make chilled ready meals, houmous dips, deli products & savoury accompaniments and employs over 2,000 people
About the role. In this fast-paced and rewarding role, you will ensure that company, customer, and regulatory quality standards are consistently achieved by diligently monitoring Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and applying HACCP principles to effectively manage food safety risks.
You will proactively identify and resolve quality issues to prevent recurrence, while driving continuous improvement in product quality and safety - making this your top priority.
Role Accountabilities: - Ensure compliance with quality standards, customer expectations, and legislation using GMP and HACCP.
- Audit incoming pallets; report and follow up on non-conformances.
- Inspect stored pallets for damage or poor stacking; log issues.
- Monitor pallet building/loading; identify training needs.
- Check pallets pre-loading; ensure corrections are made.
- Oversee trailer loading; verify proper restraint use.
- Verify intake/dispatch checks, trailer temps, and documentation.
- Audit adherence to Quality Management Systems and GMP.
- Provide technical support and escalate complex issues.
- Support continuous improvement of controls and KPIs.
- Promote safe work practices and contribute to HSE improvements.
- Maintain Technical KPIs and generate reports.
- Assist with Quality Management System admin and document control.
About You. You will bring drive and enthusiasm to every aspect of the technical role, working effectively within a team while also using your own initiative to uphold and improve standards.
You will be computer literate, comfortable with Word and Excel, and able to generate procedures, graphs, reports, and presentations as needed.
Flexibility will be key, as you will adapt your approach and working hours according to the evolving needs of the business.
You will have the ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with all levels of management as well as with internal and external customers.
Ideally, you will have previous experience in a food manufacturing environment to support your success in this role.
