Senior Accountant

Our Client is a well established Douglas-based organisation that offers a comprehensive suite of accountancy and wealth management services to enable clients to grow, manage and preserve all facets of their financial affairs through cross-border resources and expertise-led solutions. As they continue to grow, they are seeking a Senior Accountant to join an established team.

Reporting to the Accounts Manager and Directors, the Senior Accountant will:

• Collaborate within the team to manage a diverse portfolio
• Supervise and support team members where required
• Prepare and review financial statements for small to medium-sized companies in line with IFRS 102 Section 1A
• Oversee bookkeeping for client structures
• Ensure timely delivery of financial statements to clients
• Respond to client queries regarding financial statements
• Prepare and review management accounts
• Prepare and review VAT returns for client structures
• Support UK / IOM statutory reporting requirements
• Constructively challenge existing systems and procedures to enhance efficiency and client experience
• Undertake additional duties or projects as required

The ideal candidate for the role of Senior Accountant will have:

• Be ACCA or ACA qualified, or qualified by experience
• Good A Levels or equivalent
• Proven accounting experience at a senior level
• Ability to actively prioritise and manage workload

Desirable:

• Experience with owner-managed businesses is preferred but not essential
• Understanding of Isle of Man legislation and systems
• Understanding of UK Tax legislation
• Experience with CCH and Laserfiche
