We are seeking a dedicated and qualified Nursery Practitioner to join our team and provide a safe, stimulating, and nurturing environment for children aged 0 5. The successful candidate will work in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), promoting each child s learning, development, and welfare while upholding high safeguarding standards.
Key Responsibilities
Safeguarding and Welfare
- Follow all safeguarding policies and procedures in line with Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) and Working Together to Safeguard Children.
- Maintain a vigilant and proactive approach to children's well-being.
Childcare and Education
- Support children s development through planned and spontaneous play-based activities.
- Observe, assess, and record children s progress in line with EYFS requirements.
- Provide inclusive, child-centred care that meets the needs of all backgrounds and abilities.
- Ensure the nursery environment is clean, safe, and engaging.
Communication and Teamwork
- Keep parents informed of their child s progress and any concerns.
- Contribute to team discussions, planning, and continuous improvement.
Health and Safety
- Follow all health, safety, and hygiene procedures as set out in nursery policies.
- Conduct risk assessments and daily checks as required.
Professional Development
- Take part in regular training and reflective practice.
- Stay informed about current legislation, EYFS updates, and best practices.
- Attend all required safeguarding and child protection training.
Requirements
- Level 3 qualification in Early Years Childcare (required)
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to apply)
- Strong understanding of the EYFS and safeguarding responsibilities
- Good communication and organisational skills
- Paediatric First Aid certificate (or willingness to complete)
