The Opportunity:
They are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Residential Care Worker or Team Leader to join its team in Derby. This role is ideal for a compassionate professional looking to take a step into leadership, providing day-to-day guidance to a team of care workers while making a tangible difference in the lives of young people.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Registered and Deputy Managers to maintain the highest standards of care, acting as a role model and a key figure in the home's supportive structure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide day-to-day leadership and support to a team of Residential Care Workers.
- Ensure the physical, emotional, and social needs of the children and young people are met with the highest standard of care.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with children, young people, and their families.
- Uphold safeguarding responsibilities, promoting individual rights and providing care that is free from oppression and values diversity.
- Act as a mentor and role model to Residential Support Workers, offering guidance and support.
- Assist the management team in the implementation and review of individual care plans and risk assessments.
- Ensure all records and documentation are accurately maintained and up-to-date.
The Ideal Candidate:
Essential Requirements:
- An NVQ Level 3 or higher qualification in Children and Young People's Workforce or its equivalent.
- Proven previous experience within a children's residential care setting.
- Demonstrable leadership potential and strong management skills.
- A full, valid UK driving licence.
- Flexibility to work the required shifts, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.
