Graduate Trainee Paraplanner - Financial Planning

Beechwood Financial Services is a well-established, professional firm of Chartered Financial Planners based in Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire. Founded in 1978 and located in the town centre since 1983, we have built a long-standing and affluent client base, together with an excellent reputation in the local area.

We provide comprehensive financial planning, including:

• Pension and retirement advice,• Savings and Investments,• Inheritance tax (IHT) planning,

We also advise in a number of specialist areas such as finances on divorce, trust planning, and redundancy counselling. We are now seeking a Graduate Trainee Paraplanner to join our busy and growing team.

Role Overview:

This is an excellent opportunity to build a long-term career in financial planning. As a Paraplanner, you will work closely with our team of Financial Advisers to support the delivery of high quality advice to clients. The role is varied and will include:

• Preparing for and attending client meetings with Advisers.• Taking detailed meeting notes and carrying out follow-up actions.• Research and analysis of clients' existing pensions, savings, and investments.• Drafting clear, comprehensive recommendation reports.• Preparing client cashflow forecasts using leading financial planning software.• Undertaking technical research and completing tax, pension, and other calculations.• Liaising with clients and the administration team to ensure smooth delivery of ongoing work.

About You:

The successful candidate will be educated to degree level and demonstrate a broad range of skills. We welcome graduates from all disciplines; a background in business or finance is not a requirement. You should be able to demonstrate:

• Strong written communication skills and the ability to produce professional reports.• Confident and clear communication with clients and colleagues.• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.• Good level of basic numeracy.• Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise effectively.• A willingness to learn quickly and work towards professional qualifications.• The ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
