Link3 Recruitment are hiring a caring and experienced KS2 SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive SEN primary school in the NG8 area of Nottingham.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting pupils with additional needs and behavioural challenges, particularly those with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).

About the Role

We work with a number of local schools who require additional support staff on a day-to-day, short-term, or long-term basis.
This particular position is a full-time SEN Teaching Assistant role in KS2, offering the opportunity to provide meaningful, consistent support to children with a range of learning and behavioural needs.

Your Role Will Include

  • Providing 1:1 and small group support to KS2 pupils with SEN
  • Implementing EHCP targets under the guidance of the SENCO and class teacher
  • Supporting children s academic, emotional, and social development
  • Using consistent, supportive strategies to manage challenging behaviour positively
  • Encouraging independence, confidence, and inclusion within the classroom and wider school community
  • Collaborating closely with class teachers, SENCO, and external professionals to ensure tailored and effective support
  • Assisting in planning and delivering engaging, curriculum-linked activities suited to individual learning needs

What We re Looking For

We re looking for someone who:

  • Has experience supporting children with SEN and behavioural needs, ideally in a KS2 setting
  • Can confidently deliver individualised EHCP targets
  • Remains calm, empathetic, and resilient in challenging situations
  • Understands child development and how to adapt learning to meet diverse needs
  • Is proactive, positive, and builds strong relationships with children and staff
  • Works well as part of a supportive team and communicates effectively with colleagues and families
  • Holds a Level 2 or Level 3 TA qualification (desirable)
  • Has an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or is willing to apply for one)
  • Holds a minimum of GCSE qualifications (evidence will be requested)

Right to Work:
All candidates will be required to demonstrate a valid Right to Work in the UK as part of our safeguarding and compliance checks.

DBS:
All applicants must undergo an enhanced DBS check (Child Workforce) prior to starting work, if not already in possession of one registered on the Update Service.
The cost of a DBS would be covered by the applicant.
