Senior Project Manager (Asset Management Programme)
Contract: 6 Months
Day Rate: £550 £650 (Outside IR35)
Location: Manchester (Minimum 3 days on-site per week) + occasional travel to additional UK sites
Clearance Requirement: Candidates must be eligible for CTC Security Clearance
Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to support a major Asset Management transformation programme. The role focuses on programme coordination, governance, and delivery oversight across multiple workstreams, ensuring alignment with the wider organisational change strategy. You will work closely with technology teams, engineering & maintenance, procurement, capital planning, and business change leads to drive successful programme outcomes.
Experience in engineering or asset management environments is advantageous but not essential.
Key Responsibilities
Programme Alignment & Governance
- Coordinate and lead activities across workstreams within the Asset Management programme scope.
- Day-to-day planning and delivery of in-scope project activities; maintain and manage programme plans.
- Chair and facilitate workstream ceremonies and governance forums.
- Manage programme artefacts including RACI, RAID logs, status reports, and milestone tracking.
- Ensure alignment with Programme Manager and Senior Technical Project Manager; escalate risks and issues appropriately.
- Support design elaboration activities and manage readiness for cutover phases.
- Maintain detailed oversight of the project delivery plan and ensure delivery in accordance with programme governance frameworks.
- Produce regular progress and performance reporting in line with programme reporting standards.
Asset Stewardship Deployment
- Work with Group Project Management and Subject Matter Experts to finalise deployment approach, standards and governance.
- Coordinate cross-site workshops and stakeholder sessions; drive agreed outcomes and follow-through on actions.
- Manage and update delivery plans and control logs including risks, issues, budget tracking and resource requirements.
- Support monthly steering and board-level reporting.
- Work closely with Product Management to ensure direction and scope alignment for Asset Stewardship activities.
Key Skills & Experience
- Proven experience as a Senior Project Manager in large-scale programmes.
- Strong governance, planning, and RAID management capabilities.
- Skilled in stakeholder engagement, workshop facilitation and cross-functional coordination.
- Demonstrable experience working in structured programme frameworks.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to work on-site 3+ days per week in Manchester, with occasional travel to other UK sites.
- Engineering or asset management background beneficial but not essential.
Additional Requirements
- Must be eligible to undergo CTC Security Clearance.
- Must be able to commit to 3 days per week on-site in Manchester.
- Contract expected to run 6 months, full-time.
