Quantity Surveyor

A well-established civil engineering contractor, based in Bolton, is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join its commercial team. The company has a strong reputation for delivering high-quality infrastructure and public realm projects across the North West, working with local authorities, developers, and private clients on highways, paving, drainage, and environmental improvement schemes.

The Role

The Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for managing the financial and contractual aspects of multiple projects, ensuring cost efficiency, value for money, and commercial success.

Key Responsibilities:

• Overseeing all commercial functions from procurement to final account
• Preparing valuations, cost forecasts, and financial reports
• Administering contracts and ensuring compliance with contract conditions
• Identifying and managing project risks, variations, and change control processes
• Working closely with clients, engineers, and site teams to monitor progress and budgets
• Supporting tender preparation and pricing of new opportunities

Candidate Requirements:

The ideal candidate will be a commercially driven professional with strong analytical skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively across project teams.

Essential:

• Degree or HND in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
• Proven experience within civil engineering or construction
• Sound knowledge of NEC and other standard forms of contract
• Strong numerical and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and relevant cost management tools
• Full UK driving licence
