Major Tasks and Activities: The role requires a Senior SAP Basis Contractor with a minimum of 5 years experience who will be accountable for following activities amongst others: System performance tuning and availability. Utilizing Solman 7.2 and CALM to improve operational excellence. Provide Basis support and guidance on Projects as applicable. Carrying out new system installations and associated post-installation activities. Performing system upgrades and applying patches (e.g. kernel, HRSPs, ST-API, SAP JVM) in line with upgrade/maintenance policies Performing daily system checks and looking for automation opportunities to improve service Maintaining SLA s for incidents and work requests. Ensuring Customers are updated on actions and progress through to resolution. Working within team framework to provide out of hours support. Responding to out-of-hours calls and production monitoring alerts. System Maintenance outside of core business hours. Ensuring SAP estate is updated and compliant with updates in line with BIS policy. Maintaining & reviewing critical SAP OSS notes and advising SAP Technical Lead if applicable to The Company. Ensuring process documentation is created and maintained as needed. Maintain and enhance SAP archiving capability. Be involved and lead as directed by SAP Technical Lead in technical initiatives around technologies such as BTP, IAS/IPS and CALM. Qualification and Experience: The role requires an individual with a solid background in SAP Basis with attributes such as the following: Pro-active collaboration and stakeholder management Strong SAP Basis skills, ideally developed through multiple Project lifecycles. Experience of working cross-culturally and cross -functionally, and ability to adapt personal style to different environments Technically proficient across multiple SAP solutions such as : ECC, PO, BW, BPC, Gateway, IdM and Solution Manager. Experience and knowledge of SAP Cloud Systems & Technologies such as : Success Factors. BTP. IAS/IPS. CALM. Experience of 3rd Party tools : Transport Management - Active Control (Transport Expresso) or similar. Data Copying/Redaction - Attunity Gold Client or similar. Strong O/S and database skills within a Microsoft environment Experience of working in a fast-paced environment with demanding deadlines and a desire to deliver to milestones would be a distinct advantage. Technical & Specialist Knowledge Minimum of 5 years previous experience working within SAP Basis arena. Must be able to demonstrate hands on SAP Basis expertise. MS SQL experience will be beneficial. A working knowledge of Networks and Firewalls. Proven experience around BTP and CALM would be advantageous. Techniche Global are supporting an engineering defence contractor to appoint a SAP Basis Consultant. Rate: £(Apply online only)per day UMB (inside IR 35) Location: remote with occasional visits to regional hubs across the UK Duration: contract for 12 months initially Requirements: sole UK national eligible for SC Clearance (dual nationals cannot apply for this role) The purpose of the role is to: Provide technical input into SAP product maintenance to ensure systems remain compliant and within support. Work with SAP Technical Lead and SAP Basis Team Lead as required to plan upgrades that align with SAP technology advances. Lead SAP technical initiatives as instructed by SAP Technical Lead. Perform performance reviews of existing systems and present recommendations with associated implementation plans. Work within the SAP Basis team to provide appropriate response in resolving SAP production environment issues. To ensure that all SAP Production systems are available and performing as required as per SLAs. Work with the Infrastructure teams (Network, Storage, Citrix and Server) to ensure a stable environment and collaborate on changes that impact SAP systems.
