Principal Ecologist - Kent
Salary: 40,000+
Our client, a leading environmental consultancy, is seeking a Principal Ecologist to join their growing team in Kent. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced ecologist to take a leading role in delivering high-quality ecological surveys, assessments, and advice across a range of projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead ecological surveys, habitat assessments, and biodiversity impact assessments.
Provide expert advice on ecological legislation, planning policy, and conservation strategies.
Manage and mentor junior ecologists, fostering a strong team culture.
Prepare high-quality technical reports and contribute to client proposals.
Liaise with clients, statutory bodies, and stakeholders to support project delivery.
Requirements:
Degree in Ecology, Environmental Science, or a related field.
Significant post-graduate experience in ecological consultancy or research.
Chartered status or eligibility (CIEEM) preferred.
Strong knowledge of UK wildlife legislation, habitat regulations, and biodiversity net gain principles.
Excellent communication, project management, and leadership skills.
