Job Description

Residential Manager - Children/Young People - Complex Intervention Provisions
Job description
37 hours per week

This is an exciting time to join Bridgend CBC as we continue to develop the way we meet the needs of children who need our support in line with the Welsh Government agenda to end profit in children's residential services in Wales.

Hillsboro is a single occupancy home that provides complex intervention, for children young people who need stability and support. The service is registered for only one child and through therapeutic intervention as well as a trained, committed and passionate staff team, the longer term aim is to be able to step down the level of support and through working with the child and their wishes, feelings and preferences explore a move on to other provisions. This could be one of the other internal residential provisions in BCBC or possibly foster care, supported lodgings or possibly family.

Hillsboro offers a therapeutic environment for children and young people, using a trauma informed approach to provide the most effective support possible. Enabling them to understand their individual circumstances, develop resilience and self-care skills.

As we expand our residential provisions, the successful candidate will also be responsible for a further provision, which will be operational in the next 12 months. The new service will align closely with Hillsboro, in that it will provide complex intervention. The service will be registered for two young people but initially the service will support only one young person, due to complexity of the need and potential behaviours.

Between the two services, they have access to a Board-Certified Behaviour Analyst who co-ordinates the assessment and therapeutic interventions for young people and works closely with the staff to develop bespoke Positive Behavioural Support Plans designed to reduce challenging behaviours and support positive behavioural change. The Residential Manager will be supported by a Deputy Manager and a strong leadership team.

As the Residential Manager you will need to be qualified to the required level in leadership and management as listed in the Qualification framework for the Social Care Sector in Wales. You will also need to be registered with Social Care Wales.

We require a strong and experienced manager who will lead Hillsboro and staff team and drive the development of the new service. If you have the skillset, passion and commitment, please apply.
