Key Responsibilities As a Principal Mechanical Design Engineer , your responsibilities will include: Leading the delivery of mechanical building services design projects Producing and reviewing Stage 4 detailed design documentation Developing HVAC system designs, calculations and technical specifications Providing technical leadership across project teams and design delivery Collaborating with electrical engineers, structural engineers and architects Supporting BIM coordination and multidisciplinary design integration Ensuring designs meet industry standards, regulations and client requirements Managing project delivery in line with programme, budget and quality targets Mentoring and supporting junior and intermediate engineers Requirements To be considered for this Principal Mechanical Design Engineer role, candidates should have: Proven experience working as a Senior or Principal Mechanical Design Engineer within building services Strong knowledge of HVAC systems and mechanical design principles Experience delivering projects across RIBA Stage 4 detailed design Experience working within consultancy or multidisciplinary engineering environments Strong leadership, communication and coordination skills Ability to manage technical delivery and project teams Desirable: Experience working on critical systems or mission-critical environments Progression towards or achievement of Chartered Engineer (CEng) status Experience using Revit or BIM software What's On Offer 60,000 - 70,000 salary Hybrid working in Chester Opportunity to work within a specialist critical systems team Exposure to complex and high-performance building services projects Strong opportunities for career progression and leadership development If you are a Principal Mechanical Design Engineer with strong building services experience looking to work on critical systems and Stage 4 projects, this is an excellent opportunity to join a forward-thinking engineering consultancy.
