Contract Duration: On-going Position Summary: This role would require individuals to apply paint to a high level of finish to large rail vehicles. This role will include all the paint preparation, sanding, priming, spraying and final finish work on these vehicles. This includes all the masking, keying, primer application (2K), final coats (2K) and polishing out any imperfections to create the perfect finish. This role involves working on very large surfaces, so individuals must be able to apply a finishing over a large area and the work is of a physical nature. This role will also involve touch up and snag repair work so would give the right individual the chance to perfect their skills in both large component and smart repair finishing. Our Commercial Vehicle refurbishing clients are looking for Spray Painters to paint a variety of large commercial, MOD and various other vehicles. The role is based in Foston, near Derby on Days or Nights. The business is long standing and highly successful offering permanent positions to all suitable candidates. Minimum of 5 years experience in spraying cars, van ETC Shifts are Monday to Friday Days 7am to 5pm £17.25(PAYE) (£22.25) LTD per hour Nights 5pm to 2am £17.25 per hour and a £200 per week shift allowance. LTD £22.25 (£30 for hours over 40 in any week). Responsibilities Prepare vehicles for painting Mask and fill any required surfaces. Paint surfaces according to instructions on designs and specifications. Apply paint by various application dependant on client spec. Apply multiple and even layers of paint to surfaces. Mix and apply paint according to instructions on designs and specifications. Paint various tankers, trains, MOD Vehicles and other Commercials with one or two colours depending on the surface type and client spec. Clean up excess material. Check quality of painting by examining surfaces for flaws or flaws caused by previous paint application. Ensure that all painting tasks are completed in a timely manner by checking in with the Paint Manager.
