The Fore is the UK s only venture philanthropy fund that has cracked the code in how to identify and distribute funding to turbocharge grassroots innovation and catalyse change. Since 2017, The Fore has been backing the best small charities and social enterprises with astonishing results. So far over 50% of local organisations supported eight years ago have gone on to influence policy, shape national conversations and change lives at scale. Currently The Fore is funding around 50 of the best charities per year and supporting hundreds of others with skills. However, as an organisation we need to do more. We are looking to scale our impact through two routes. Firstly, by increasing our work backing the best charities and convening and educating donors, and secondly by leading change in the broader funding system. The role In the next phase of The Fore s development, it is a priority for the CEO to be able to concentrate on building the external profile and influence of The Fore s work. Therefore, the Chief Operating Officer (COO) will play a central role in leadership as the organisation develops. This Security Officer opportunity is a great opportunity to be part of a multi-skilled Security Team working at our Bristol site! Salary: up to £27,800 depending on experience Security Clearance: British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship . Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply. As a minimum and after offer stage, all successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS), which are managed by the MBDA Personnel Security Team. Shift Patterns Working on a shift basis, made up of 12 hour shifts across weekends / weekdays and nights rota. The opportunity: The Security Officer is responsible for the effective physical control of entry, operation and monitoring of all security and safety equipment at the site, responding to any related incidents. Operating security systems including Access Control System, CCTV, Radio Communication Systems, Intruder Detection systems and various safety systems. Undertaking patrols, securing buildings, operating in a Security Control Room environment, responding to emergencies and acting as initial incident controller. Working with a highly experienced qualified combined in-house and externally supplied Security team. What we're looking for from you: Are you able to undertake shift work, both weekends / weekdays and night shifts, and if and when required travel and work at other MBDA UK sites? Do you have the experience and ability to work as part of a team and in a lone capacity, as on occasions you may be required to fulfil duties as a lone worker? Good working knowledge of security/safety processes. Good degree of numeracy and literacy and confident in using MS Office applications to enable security activities to be carried out. Good report writing skills A willing, helpful attitude and a calm professional manner, when dealing with both internal and external customers. Someone who is able to undertake the role under challenging circumstances e.g. Emergency situations having the ability to be adaptable when things are changed at the last minute!
