Our Client, Reading council are looking for a Childcare Advocate paying 65 an hour We are seeking an experienced Childcare Advocate to work in our dynamic and supportive Advocacy Team within the Joint Legal Team, a centre of excellence recently commended by Lawyers in Local Government. Our team handles a wide range of Family Court hearings, primarily care proceedings and related matters, delivering high-quality advocacy and ensuring continuity of representation for our clients throughout their cases. In this role, you will undertake a variety of hearings, including contested matters, final hearings, and emergency or short-notice hearings. While some hearings will be conducted remotely, you will also be required to attend hearings in Reading, Slough, and occasionally London or other court centres. The role Reporting to the Director of Legal Services, you will deliver expert legal advice across a diverse portfolio including commercial contracts, intellectual property, property and construction, consumer law, employment matters, student matters, regulatory compliance and dispute resolution. You will balance legal risk and regulatory obligations with institutional priorities, providing clear, pragmatic direction on complex issues, ultimately ensuring that there is robust legal compliance across the University and its subsidiaries.
