The firm operates from modern offices in Manchester - Trafford and has a collabroative and close-knit team. The firm works with an interesting and varied client base, including partnerships, owner-managed businesses and groups. Your new role In your role as Personal Tax Manager you will take overall responsibility for the firm's tax affairs, acting as the main point of contact for all personal and general tax matters. This is a broad, hands-on role combining high-quality compliance with advisory involvement, suited to someone who enjoys variety and autonomy within a smaller practice environment.You will manage a portfolio of personal tax clients, including partnerships, owner-managed businesses and directors, with exposure to limited companies and groups where required. The client base is varied and interesting, with a strong presence of medical professionals, alongside entrepreneurial and privately owned businesses. Whilst experience in medical taxation would be advantageous, full support will be provided. You will play a key role in planning workloads, managing deadlines and ensuring technical accuracy across compliance, while also identifying opportunities to add value through advisory work such as tax planning, structuring, and ad-hoc client queries.This position offers genuine scope to shape and develop the firm's tax offering. You will be encouraged to build on the advisory side of the role over time, with the opportunity to influence processes, support future growth of the tax function and contribute to the wider strategic direction of the practice. What you'll need to succeed You'll be ATT/CTA qualified or qualified by experience, with solid personal tax experience gained in a UK accountancy practice. A proactive approach and the ability to manage your own workload will be key, as this is a stand-alone tax role within the firm. Experience using CCH would be advantageous but is not essential.This role would suit someone looking for breadth in their work, or a tax professional keen to step up and further develop their advisory skill set.
