HV Electrical Estimator About the Role A leading organisation within the UK energy and utilities sector is seeking an HV Electrical Estimator to support the delivery of high-voltage (HV) electrical connection projects across commercial, industrial, and renewable developments. This role will focus on producing accurate and competitive estimates for HV projects (11kV 132kV), while also supporting and developing the wider estimating function. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams including Sales, Project Management, and Commercial to strengthen bid performance and support project delivery across a growing portfolio. Key Responsibilities Produce and review quotations for HV electrical projects in line with DNO/IDNO and G81 standards. Support the estimating function, ensuring high standards of technical accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery. Provide coaching and support to junior members of the estimating team. Prepare cost packs, margin approvals, and supporting commercial documentation. Contribute to bid meetings, providing both technical and commercial input. Review market rates and supply chain inputs to maintain competitive pricing. Support post-contract analysis alongside Project Managers and Quantity Surveyors. Contribute to supply chain engagement and procurement strategies. Provide commercial insights and reporting to senior leadership. Represent the organisation at client meetings, site visits, and industry events. About You You are an experienced HV Electrical Estimator with a strong understanding of high-voltage infrastructure projects and a proven ability to deliver accurate, commercially sound estimates. You are a collaborative team player who is confident supporting and developing others, while also engaging effectively with internal teams, clients, and stakeholders. You are organised, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Essential Experience & Qualifications Proven experience as an HV Estimator within HV/ICP electrical cable and substation projects (11kV 132kV). Strong knowledge of DNO/IDNO standards and G81 requirements. Experience supporting or mentoring team members within an estimating function. Strong commercial awareness, including cost control and margin optimisation. Excellent organisational, communication, and stakeholder management skills. Desirable: 5+ years experience in HV estimating within utilities or infrastructure. Experience delivering tender presentations and supporting client negotiations. Exposure to supply chain management and procurement strategy. Experience estimating Design & Build projects and interpreting technical drawings. Experience in cost planning, risk assessment, and value engineering. Proficiency in industry estimating software and tools.
