Role overview

This is an opportunity to join our dedicated Special Situations M&A team which provides the full suite of corporate finance advisory services in situations where the target company is facing business critical challenges.

The Corporate Finance Executive will interface with clients and other professionals in the preparation of business plans, information memoranda, and supporting financial information. The role involves supporting team members on deals, researching and summarising rationale for buyers and targets, managing workload, and contributing to business development activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support team members on deals, while seeking advice from more senior members of the team as appropriate
  • Research and summarise rationale for buyers for disposal mandates and targets for buyside mandates
  • Research valuations for disposal and buyside mandates
  • Identify targets for buyside mandates
  • Approach buyers on sell-side mandates with supervision by senior team members
  • Manage your own workload and keep other team members informed of progress and any questions you have as required
  • Take an active role in team business development activities and networking alongside other team members
  • Prepare transaction documents (IM, Business Plan, Offer summaries, etc.) for review by more senior team members
  • Prepare financial models using Excel
  • Develop experience of both buy-side and sell-side mandates
  • Provide a point of contact throughout the engagement with respect to routine project issues and questions
  • Accompany more senior team members to meetings with clients as required and assist with the preparation for and follow-up from such meetings
  • Develop understanding of when to ask more senior team members for help and time management on projects
  • Attend networking events and begin to develop own network of peers
  • Assist senior team members with business development and marketing activities
  • Support with production of pitch documents, including collating research on valuations, recent deals, and potential buyers/targets
  • Request and act upon feedback on all areas of work
  • Develop experience of teamwork in a Corporate Finance environment
Qualifications
  • ACA qualified
  • Experience in accountancy practice or Corporate Finance environment
  • Act with integrity at all times and comply with all required internal and external risk management procedures
  • Ensure quality on all client deliverables
  • Compliance with FRP Fit & Proper Persons test
  • Ensure all appropriate take on and risk management processes, including AML, are followed on all client projects
  • Seek out training on specific areas where required to refresh knowledge
