Trainee Service Coordinator - Fire Safety
Anchor Fire Ltd Loughton, Essex
Anchor Fire is a fully accredited fire safety contractor working across London and Essex. We install and maintain fire alarm systems, emergency lighting, AOVs, fire doors and passive fire protection for housing providers, schools, healthcare sites and children's charity accommodation. We are looking for someone organised and sharp to join the office team and train into the fire safety industry properly. No previous experience in fire safety is needed. We will teach you. What you will be doing from day one Managing the engineers' diaries and making sure the right person is on the right job with the right kit. Booking in planned maintenance visits and reactive callouts. Answering the phone to clients and sorting out what they need. Sending out service reports and certificates. Keeping our job management system, accurate so our records and invoicing hold up. It is a busy desk. Engineers ring in from site, clients ring in with problems, and you are the person who makes it work. What you will learn Over your first year you will be trained on fire alarm systems and the standards behind them, including BS 5839, BS 9999, the Fire Safety Act and the Building Safety Act. You will learn to read a survey, price remedial works and write quotations that go out to clients under our name. Alongside that we will train and fund you towards a fire door inspection qualification. You will spend time on site with our fire door inspector, surveying doors in occupied buildings and writing up findings. You will be trained by our operations manager, our qualified fire door inspector and the managing director. This is a small enough company that you will learn from the people doing the work, not from a folder. What we need from you Well organised, and able to hold several jobs in your head at once without dropping any. Fluent English. You will be writing and speaking to clients, and in time producing quotations that carry our name. Confident on the phone, including when someone is annoyed. Quick with computers. Willing to learn a technical trade. This role suits someone who wants to build a career rather than fill a seat. A full UK driving licence is essential. The role is subject to a DBS check, as we work in schools, healthcare settings and children's charity accommodation. Any background where you have coordinated people, handled customers or worked to deadlines is relevant. Lettings, property management, plant hire, service desks, dispatch and hospitality supervision all transfer well. What matters is how you think, not the industry you came from. What we offer 28,000 per year from day one, with review as your qualifications come through. A small signwritten company van, or 30p per business mile if you would rather use your own car. 28 days holiday including bank holidays. Workplace pension. Fully funded training and qualifications.
