This role involves working across Kent, delivering one-to-one emotional wellbeing support, structured interventions, group sessions, and collaborative work with multi-agency partners. You will help individuals build coping strategies, improve resilience, access the right support services, and manage their emotional wellbeing more effectively.

  • Support service users to recognise triggers, manage emotional wellbeing, and avoid risky situations.
  • Encourage and empower individuals to access mental health, therapeutic and wellbeing services.
  • Work collaboratively with Probation Practitioners, partner agencies, and other wellbeing teams.
  • Maintain accurate case records, track outcomes, and meet service delivery targets.
  • Provide advocacy, guidance, and practical help such as completing referral forms and attending appointments.
  • Use digital systems to record casework, update action plans and share information securely.
  • Effectively manage risk concerns and safeguarding issues in line with policy and professional boundaries.
  • Promote equal opportunities, professional conduct, and a trauma-informed, person-centred approach at all times.
Essential Skills & Experience
  • Experience supporting people with complex needs, mental health issues, substance misuse, or learning difficulties/disabilities.
  • Experience delivering casework, 1:1 support or interventions.
  • Ability to motivate, empower and build trust with vulnerable individuals.
  • Experience working in multi-agency settings and building effective partnerships.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, advocacy abilities and excellent communication (verbal and written).
  • Ability to manage challenging behaviour, de-escalate situations and maintain boundaries.
  • Good digital literacy and ability to maintain accurate records.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and meet targets.
Desirable
  • Experience facilitating group sessions or workshops.
  • Knowledge of mental health, emotional wellbeing, trauma, substance misuse or criminal justice environments.
  • Lived experience relating to the criminal justice system.
  • Adult training qualification (Level 3 AET/PTTLS), PGCE or equivalent.
Personal Qualities
  • Emotionally resilient, adaptable and solutions-focused.
  • Non-judgemental, compassionate and committed to supporting vulnerable people.
  • Professional integrity, strong boundaries and respect for safeguarding.
  • A team player who collaborates well within multi-disciplinary environments.
  • Open to feedback, continuous learning and reflective practice.
Additional Requirements
  • Able to travel across Ashford, Ramsgate, Folkestone and Tunbridge Wells.
  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Enhanced DBS (preferably on the Update Service).
  • Security clearance (or willingness to obtain).
