Rate 50 per hour umbrella

Role Overview

Nobles Hospital are seeking an experienced and HCPC Registered Band 7 Biomedical Scientist with strong Histology competencies to support the delivery of high-quality pathology services within the Histopathology department. The successful candidate will work as part of a busy, friendly and professional laboratory team, contributing to accurate, timely and safe diagnostic services.

Key Responsibilities

Performing routine and advanced histology techniques including microtomy, special stains and immunohistochemistry

Operating automated staining platforms and associated systems

Ensuring compliance with laboratory SOPs, UKAS standards and clinical governance

Engaging in internal and external quality assurance programmes

Using LIMS and digital systems accurately and efficiently

Supporting workflow prioritisation to meet turnaround times

Working collaboratively within the MDT, supporting pathologists and BMS colleagues

Essential Requirements

HCPC registration as a Biomedical Scientist

Significant UK Histology experience at Band 6 or Band 7 level

Strong competencies in microtomy, embedding, staining & IHC

Working knowledge of ISO15189 and UKAS requirements

Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team

Desirable

Previous experience within NHS Histopathology departments

Familiarity with digital pathology workflows

Strong IT skills including laboratory information systems
